I am Assistant Professor for Sociology of the Welfare State at the University of Mannheim. Before, I worked as postdoctoral researcher at the SOCIUM Research Center on Inequality and Social Policy and in the Collaborative Research Center 597 “Transformations of the State”, both at the University of Bremen. I completed my PhD in the research group SOCLIFE at the University of Cologne and my undergraduate studies of social sciences at the Humboldt University Berlin.
My research interests are in the areas of life course sociology and welfare state research as well as in quantitative research methods, in particular multilevel and panel regression techniques. In my ongoing research projects I focus on women's late careers in Europe and the US, and elderly's well-being and pension reforms in China.
