Curriculum Vitae
J. Timo Weishaupt, Ph.D. is Juniorprofessor for the Sociology of the Welfare State at University of Mannheim. He teaches courses in comparative sociology and welfare state research in the under- and graduate sociology programs at the School of Social Sciences. He received his doctoral degree in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From September 2008 through December 2010, he was a post-doc fellow at the Mannheim Centre of European Social Research (MZES). He has published on issues related to labour market governance, the politics of activation, and social policies. His book From the Manpower Revolution to the Activation Paradigm (Amsterdam University Press, 2011) is based on his doctoral thesis, which was awarded the Ernst B. Haas Best Dissertation Award on European Politics from the American Political Science Association.
